Nana's smile is soft and kind and she recognizes the pain in Johnny's eyes, so she offers him a seat and a cup of saffron tea. Johnny pours his heart out to her about how his home was destroyed by "The Storm of the Century”.
Nana listened and listened and when Johnny was done he was breathing heavy with tears in his eyes.
Nana then tells Johnny a story. The story of:

Because of this, Johnny is inspired to keep going when things get hard.
